$30,000 Grant Awarded for Downtown Johnstown Pocket Park Project
The Johnstown Redevelopment Authority (JRA) is excited to announce the recent award of a $30,000 Capacity and Community Development Program grant from the People, Parks & Community Foundation to support the continued revitalization of Downtown Johnstown.
This generous funding will be used to transform the former Robert’s Pub site into a vibrant Downtown Pocket Park—a welcoming public space that will breathe new life into a long-blighted area. Located in the heart of the city, the Pocket Park is being designed as a community asset that will provide a much-needed social gathering space for residents, workers, and visitors alike.
The revitalized space will not only serve as a relaxing outdoor environment for the employees of nearby businesses but will also support broader community engagement by creating a safe, attractive, and accessible area for all to enjoy. Whether it’s a place to enjoy a lunch break, attend small public events, or simply connect with neighbors, the Pocket Park will contribute significantly to the vibrancy and livability of downtown Johnstown.
The Downtown Pocket Park is part of JRA’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the city by creating attractive, functional, and community-centered spaces. With this new funding, the transformation of this key downtown location is one step closer to becoming a reality.
