Shaping the Future of johnstown, PA

Michelle Cheche

Michelle Cheche has been an integral part of the Redevelopment Authority since 2016, bringing a strong understanding of the City of Johnstown and its neighborhoods as a lifelong resident and graduate of the Greater Johnstown School District. Raised in the West End, Michelle began her tenure as Secretary to the Board of Directors and has steadily advanced into her current dual role as Office Administrator and Property Manager.

In her expanded capacity, Michelle oversees the City of Johnstown Land Bank Program, working to return blighted, tax-delinquent properties to productive use by connecting prospective buyers with opportunities for rehabilitation—ultimately helping to reduce the need for demolition. She also serves as the liaison for the Hosanna Program, which assists owner-occupied households with essential home repairs.

Michelle is frequently tasked with leading key special projects. Her work includes managing demolition contracts, overseeing asbestos abatement efforts—such as at the former Cambria Rowe Business College—and directing the demolition and site restoration of the former Sheesley Supply Company property on behalf of the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority.
Her strong organizational skills, deep local knowledge, and commitment to community revitalization make Michelle a valuable asset to the Authority and to the City of Johnstown’s ongoing redevelopment efforts.
