After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in History in May of 1996 from Slippery Rock University, Sherri returned to SRU the following fall to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling and Educational Psychology with a concentration in Student Personnel in Higher Education.

Sherri moved to Johnstown in 2001, after spending time in Northwestern Ohio at Defiance College as the Director of Greek Life and Peer Education at Defiance College. In her 20+ years at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, she has worked in Residence Life, Student Activities, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Housing Operations, and  Career Services prior to her current role as the Director of Community Relations and Engagement. She has also been the advisor of the Gay-Straight Alliance and the Black Action Society from 2008-2011 and again since 2019. She is also the volunteer costumer for the Pitt-Johnstown Theatre Department and has done costumes for 39 Tigers and the Altoona Community Theater.

During her time in Johnstown, Sherri has been involved with the Young Professionals of the Alleghenies, the Special Olympics Winter Games committee, The Goodwill GoodGuides program, the YWCA Rise and Shine mentoring program, the Community Connection Team (dealing with sexual violence), Vision 2025 capture teams and Trinity Farms Center for Healing and has been a frequent participant in the region’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She currently serves as Board President of the Cambria-Somerset Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program and the Coordinator of the Johnstown Cinderella Project and recently cycled off from her Board of Directors position with Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies,. Sherri is an Executive Committee member of the Johnstown Branch of the NAACP and a Board member of the Band of Brothers Shakespeare Company.  Sherri was named one of the Pennsylvania Business Central Foremost under 40 in 2012 and was honored to receive both the Pitt-Johnstown President’s Award for Excellence in Service to the Community and the Pitt-Johnstown Advisory Board Service to Community Award in 2013, the YPA Outstanding Citizen Award in 2015, and the Yellow Rose Award at the YWCA Tribute to Women in 2019.
